After all of it I'd say that I managed to leave out some of my favorites. I wouldn't agree that this list is reflective of my current tastes, it's more of a sampling of growing up. Each album has a story or represents a period in time, some dating as far back as I can remember.

I've been doing some analysis of your list.
-You've listened to Maniac on the Floor more than twice as much as any other album (excluding teenage panzercorps, which still sounds like the name of a white power band to me)
-In Rainbows comes before Kid A?
-Modest Mouse drops all the way to #52 after years at #1
-According to your paper list, you had a Pink Floyd album at #93. Which one and why did it rise or fall?
-Meanwhile, Dusk at Cubist Castle holds strong.
-Which one of these is not like the others - #5
-You've only listened to your 2nd favorite album of all time twice in the last 1000 posts. A "special occasions" album.
-The Kraftwerk and Devo album covers look like twins.
-Either/Or is the darkhorse slipping in at #26
-Two PIL in the top 25, a distinction of honor for sure (GBV would've made it too, if alien lanes was just a bit higher)
-The Foals have a lot of listens, but it doesn't translate into placings
-Prescence?
-Koyaanisqatsi is the only instrumental album? I wonder if you'd like Schoenberg?
-Cotton Crown is only a 7". Is that fair?
-Where's Neutral Milk Hotel?
-Your selection of live albums is interesting. It would suck to be sic alps, who's best album was a radio recording.

DER TPK is great. They hail from Germany/San Fran, I'd imagine that's were the name comes from. Maniac on the Floor is 15 minutes of constant bombardment. What's not to like about that, and it only takes 15 minutes!
I really like In Rainbows. It's like the easy listening Radiohead album; Radiohead for old folks.
Modest Mouse was never #1; well, their first album is still pretty solid.
I had the Division Bell listed twice. Coming around to that in the first place is a revelation upon itself. I mean, the Division Bell? Really? It shows my age.

#5? Keyboards, that's the difference. Really, 1984 was the first album that my brother played that rubbed off on me. Take into account the videos, DLR, all of it. The same question could be asked about Violator.

PIL, those first two albums; they are nothing like each other and they are perfect. Poptones... Public Image followed by Low Life.... that's my favorite 10 minutes of rock music, ever.

I'm a fan of that whole series of Philip Glass soundtracks.
I not a huge Sonic Youth fan. Kim Gordan's voice is grating to me, there, I said it.
Jeff Magnum is NOT the voice of our generation. I like Aeroplane, I just don't think that Magnum is Dylan or whoever. Please provide a larger sampling.
Listen to that Sic Alps show, it's fantastic (WFMU Free Music Archive). It's the perfect setlist grabbing their best material.
I left a lot of albums out, plain and simple. If I did that list all over it would look different, that's for certain.
